JasperAssistant is a visual report designer for JasperReports, a popular open-source reporting engine. It is built on top of the Eclipse's plug-in architecture and its main goal is to assist you in creating JasperReports report definition files through an intuitive graphical interface.
What's new:
- Report export and preview wizard. Supports PDF, Excel, HTML, CSV and XML formats. (Screenshot). (Eclipse 3)
- Setup guide for JasperReports samples (Guide).
- New report page settings dialog. Includes column resize tool.
- New zoom buttons in preview viewer toolbar: Actual Size, Fit Page Width and Fit Page Size. (Screenshot) (Eclipse 3)
- Improved database data source configuration dialog to allow up to three JAR files for JDBC driver.
Other minor improvements and bugfixes:
- Added thread context class loader suport for custom data sources.
- Added support for loading external XML entities. See Query JasperReports sample.
- Improved the loading of reports with consistency problems. Reports that are rejected
by JasperReports can be still opened and corrected in JasperAssistant.
- Added correct handling for Eclipse project cycles.
