Java rivals BEA Systems Inc and IBM Corp are opening another front in their new-found relationship, by cooperating on application integration.
Last November BEA and IBM announced joint work on a simplified Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) programming framework, Service Data Objects (SDO), plus a work manager and timer capable of working across the companies' WebLogic and WebSphere application servers.
