Rational Application Developer is a perfect IDE for developing Software on Websphere Application Server. It integrates very good and has a lot of advanced features like profiling your applications, hot code replacement and a lot of wizards that support you building websites. It has a great WYSIWYG web designer which supports Struts and JSF. It supports AJAX using the JWL. It has code visualization features as well.

Really for a repacking of Eclipse with only support for WebSphere, it is pretty expensive. IBM would do better to create a free websphere plugin for Eclipse, and just sell WAS.

Its a cool tool and really very good for J2EE Development. But one disadvantage with this tool is its take huge amount of memery and system resources.
