It's exactly what I'm looking for. Great work.

I would like to drag and drop Java classes from my project explorer in my diagram but this is not possible. I would like to use project modeling (full project metamodel like Omondo) and not just EMF export for each diagram with no real logics between diagrams.

This is a great opensource tool. Could still use some improvements though. But it's very flexible and a lot of the fundamental UML and SysML concepts are there. I see this tool becoming my primary Software and System Design tool. Thanks to those who made and keep up the good work.

"There is also an extension for Java that provides reverse engineering capabilites." never found this extension in the website...

I have been evaluating some SWs to pick the one which better fits my engineering group's needs. Actually Topcased is the best. Yet it lacks a few points: 1) it is not possible to share 'entities' among different projects. I.e.: let's say you have two projects, name them A and B; it would be nice to have the possibility to specify A in B's Project References, and in a B's sequence diagram to refer one of A classes. 2) It is not possible to share 'entities' among different models inside the same project. These two points mean it is hard to split a big project into several .uml/.umldi files. Having a big project in one single file worries me a lot. 3) Topcased doesn't allow you to drag-and-drop 'entities' among different packages, in the same project. This means that the structure of your tree will be rigid. You cannot change the location of some entities moving them to different packages.

This tool is ok for small projects, but if it get bigger it is unsable. I also prefer to pay for Omondo than trying to save some money on this EPL. My time is money for my company :-)

Low functionality, but very comfortable.

Cool. I will be expecting with patience improvements, for example code synchronization.

Excellent quality. One of the best. And it's free.

This is exactly what I have been looking for. Great tool. If you're looking for a free UML tool and you're fed up paying $$$$$ for buggy Omondo, then check this out. I think any existing shortcomings will be ironed out as development on it seems quite active.

You want your UML tool not hardcoded to java, and you want a free version? Then search no more. Imho this is the best one (from all listed at plugin central at least) If some usability improvements were made it is even better than some commercial tools I have used before. In my opinion it is lacking some really useful drag-and-drop features (e.g.: would like to drag a class into a sequence chart from the model and then a lifeline is created...) But, it is still the best out here!

The first free plugin that allows really to produce all kind of UML diagrams, ie sequence diagram!

Good drawing for UML diagrams - This is not a fully UML 2.1 and not a java Eclipse oriented tool. Omondo EclipseUML is a lot better.

I tried a lot of UML Eclipse plugins like Omondo, Visual Paradigm, eUml2, ArgoEclipse, Violet, Green, Slime, Visual Uml Editor and so on and I finally must say that plugin of Topcased fits what I really need. It supports all important UML2 diagrams and what I most like of this plugin: It is fast. My computer runs with a 766 Mhz Transmeta processer wit 384 MB of memory... not any of the mentioned plugins above could run like this plugin on my snaily laptop. And what I also love: It runs under the EPL licence. There are no features disabled, you can export or print diagrams without restrictions. The third thing which was important to me: It doesnt depend on a Java project, because I use UML also for other software projects, not only for Java. As I've seen, there is a additional package for those who want Java language support, but I haven't tried it. I just startet to work with the Topcased plugin a few hours ago and I havent noticed some missing things... until yet. I recommend this plugin for those who want create language-independent Eclipse UML projects too and dont have a Intel Core Duo with 2048 MB memory. The fact, that this plugin runs fast tells me that it isnt overloaded and well programmed. I hope this will be in the futue too, because it is still in BETA and Sofware companies today tend to going to overload every good software with tons of unneccessary functions that only one percent of the human being ever needs. So, I'm totally happy that I finally found this great plugin!Thank you guys for offering this great piece of software to the world!

Great tools!! I tried the UML and the Ecore editors - you have done a really GREAT job! In my opinion the UML editor is the best from what I have evaluated, better even from the most commercial tools! There are some usability issues - to provide context menus containing actions for creating sub elements, clean up the palette, provide an easy way for changing the connections type for the whole plugin... Still - the best I have tried so far! Keep up the good work :) P.S. The problem with the unresolved dependencies really exists, I also struggled with it for some time, please take a look.

Seems to be very interesting but can't be installed due to unresolvable dependencies.
