Paying a plugin for a free IDE? I'll never understand..

This is a great plugin, but it looks like because of the Eclipse open source license Adobe has to release the source code to this plugin. I found the source code for the Flex Builder IDE, but I'm wondering how to compile it (I'm not a Java developer). You can find a link to the source code and hopefully answer my compile question at: answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20081007153338AAv9XlO

I haven't used FB 2 but am evaluating this tool for Flex Builder 3 plug-in. I don't know about Eclipse, but the plug-in is seriously broken for IBM RAD 7.0 (Eclipse 3.2.2 equivalent). It's hard to believe that Adobe claims that it works with RAD 7.0 because this stuff doesn't even work out of the box.

how can it be not free, the world is going free

With Adobe's DreamWeaver CS3 blunder, I can understand why they're looking for a stable framework to build upon... but come on! Building an SDK on an open source framework, then CHARGING for the plugin?!?! They're kidding, right???

in the world of open source applications, paid applications like this would not sell. i'll wait for the open source version

Pay large amounts to Beta Test? Claiming stable.. Questionable at best

Nice plugin which contrary to the other comments, is made by Adobe, not "some guy." Adobe discounts these licenses heavily if your company is considering using Flex technology. They will practically give it away at this point because they're really trying to win the battle on Rich GUI web apps.

Paid plugins suck

User: AnonymousRating: 12008-01-11 01:57:07
It's rubbish, I am sure those '10' ratings are coming from the author himself. Why do I have to pay for a plugin of an open source IDE. TRASH IT!

What rubbish. Why do we have to pay for such trash. I will wait for the open source version.
