I can't believe this company has been allowed to rate itself up like this.

User: AnonymousRating: 12008-07-06 12:31:20
Buggy, sloppy. One word: confused.

I hate to sound like I work for this company ( I don\'t). But I have done my homework. I\'m ashamed to say it, but I have been an IDE Ho for a very long time. Cheap, free, open source, and expensive. Often several running at the same time. A computer full of old, new and defunct. I even tried to build my own. It may have been junk, but it was my junk and I was proud of it. Until, I was put on a project that was a do or die for our company. Suddenly everything I had was a waste of time. I needed something that I can rely on every hour and every day that would not break our bank. That\'s when I came across Myeclipe. At first glance, I was not sure it would fit our project, but quickly began to appreciate this workhorse. It simply works and does exactly what I need day in and day out. I\'m very happy with this tool. MyEclipse is now my first go to IDE for all of my development needs.

Im new to Java development so keep that in mind with this review. I found myeclipse while searching for a cheap ajax tool. Took advantage of the 30 day trial. I was impressed by the easy website and the quick response from support so figured I already got my money's worth from the online docs and interactive help. I really can't compare this tool to other more expensive ones, since I never used anything else. But at $500 to $5000 price tag, they could well be gold encased on the moon. I can't imagine how these tools could justify the price difference or make me a better programmer when I can find everything I need in a solid tool like myeclipse at a terrific value

I've been doing web development for more than 10 years. Frankly I was skeptical about what a $60 software would or could do. But for the price, I figured I'd take the chance. After 2 months I'm more than convinced myeclipse is the best kept secret for Java development. Just yesterday, I was able to debug a major bug in a project that stumped our team for over a week. myeclipse was the key tool for tracking the problem to the source. Honestly, I thought someone that worked for this company made up all of the comments, or at least the good ones. But after first hand experience I'm a convert. This tool is superb and support has exceeded my expectations for things that cost a lot more. Keep up the good work

Best Enterprise Java IDE for Eclipse. Period.

User: AnonymousRating: 102008-06-05 10:50:30
I love this tool. I used myeclipse for 2 years and never looked back. great features at an even greater price.

User: AnonymousRating: 102008-06-04 14:37:38
Reading through the comments on this plugin, it struck me as odd that so many voted at the extreme; either very high or very low. I had to try for myself. All I have to say is wow. I get everything I need in one package all for $30 and some change. The tutorials are first class. I tried their support and got a response in minutes. I'm making a purchase right now.

Terrible aggregation of disjointed crap.

User: AnonymousRating: 102008-05-20 19:11:08
If you think this is just some free plugins in a bundle, then you've never even tried it. At least get your facts straight before commenting. I've been a subscriber since 2006 and this product gets better and better every year. Well worth the small cost in the time I save each day.

User: AnonymousRating: 12008-05-17 15:22:49
Awfull, just a bunch of free plugins that we have to pay!

User: AnonymousRating: 102008-03-20 21:51:38
I like TIGHT connection between browser interpretation of HTML and javascript. For efficiency I want to change error spotted in javascript in debugger and change it THERE and click a save button to change source on local computer. Would also LIKE SINGLE click to update all changes to ISP internet storage. Now at age 75 after LABORIOUS steps to detect an error I have to search for same error in SOURCE in 'word pad', change it, save to disk, reload it in a browser, find where change should have been made, start upload program, drag file from local to remote, get on internet, load updated file, find corrected spot, hopefully relax.

Very useful and polished, when working. Am a subscriber since late '03, and linux seems to have always been a bit of a sticky area with ME. Have had some issues w/ the Matisse plugin and visual web designer on linux. Hard to find bugs or workspace upgrade problems (as in workspace is suddenly unusable). Either way, I've uninstalled for now.

User: AnonymousRating: 92007-09-05 14:22:24
Certainly the number 1 plugin for Eclipse. What I like about it is how it speeds up a lot of common tasks such deployments. It's Spring and Hibernate integration also help speed up coding.

User: AnonymousRating: 102007-08-28 12:30:53
This is an amazing product. Database tools alone are well worth the cost. Ajax support is simply amazing in 6.0. Congratulations.

User: AnonymousRating: 12007-08-27 15:29:33
I don't like how it's priced and scammish how it's always number one.

User: AnonymousRating: 102007-08-02 09:15:28
First of all i would like to say that i LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this IDE. This is by far a facelift compared to eclipse not a mere plugin. I am new to java development i was assigned the task of developing an application under JEE with spring and hibernate included. Needless to mention the pain of working with classic eclipse and trying to gather and install all the plugins to build a real IDE that could be useful in development. After two weeks of painful trial n error with plugins and while reading numerous tutorials and books i found Myeclipse. I would like to say that at the first look i was astonished. I found nearly everything i need in one place MYECLIPSE. i really liked the documentation and the quick guides -hopefully theu would grow in number-. i also adored how the IDE is neatly deisgned where perspectives are ready out of the box and a single mouse click away. If you are going to use spring and hibernate with eclipse to develop a project -and you are not a masochist- go on a use MyEclipse it worth every single dollar. Finally, as i said i am originally a .net developer i am used to visual studio. At the first weeks of developments i realized why Microsoft dominates software development. After seeing MyEclipse i am starting to reconsider my viewpoints.

Great set of plugins -- been using it for years, and it just keeps getting better.

User: AnonymousRating: 92007-07-15 17:14:49
This is really a cool plugin !!!! I don't like the marketing strategy using illegal click to always be first of the most active plugin list. Please stop this non sense because you don't need it !!

User: AnonymousRating: 102007-07-15 06:55:57
Simply the most user friendly and more efficient plugin I have tried so far.

User: AnonymousRating: 102007-07-11 13:39:27
Like a Swiss Army Knife

User: AnonymousRating: 102007-05-30 15:45:22
Save a lot of time!!!!

User: AnonymousRating: 102007-05-02 12:23:42
Most useful and most attractive IDE. I can hardly stop MyEclipse.

User: AnonymousRating: 102007-03-28 01:32:26
great intergeration

User: AnonymousRating: 102007-03-17 18:44:50
I've been using them for 3 years. Absolutely love it.

User: AnonymousRating: 102007-02-18 08:57:54
Do a rough estimate of the umpteen hours of work you spend to have all the plugins you need work together seamlessly at every Eclipse update. Multiply buy whatever value you give to an hour of frustrated reconfigurations. Do your own math by comparing the result with a MyEclipse subscription cost. Recommended for professionals only - nerds will hate losing those bug hunting sessions!

User: AnonymousRating: 92007-02-08 14:28:00
easy to use plugin - includes everything you need for jsf development

User: AnonymousRating: 102007-02-03 18:22:31
For 50 Bucks, it has little competition. If it supported PL/SQL better, then I would give it an 11 out of 10 if it were possible.

User: AnonymousRating: 102006-12-22 03:15:49
I´ve tried a lot, but this seems to be the best untill now...

User: AnonymousRating: 102006-11-22 02:32:23
Simply the best.

User: AnonymousRating: 102006-09-15 15:44:42
Probably the most usefull Eclipse plugin !

User: AnonymousRating: 92006-08-17 05:29:17
Great plugin.

User: AnonymousRating: 102006-06-19 06:17:13
no.1 for J2EE development

User: AnonymousRating: 102006-05-25 17:44:15
I'm have been using MyEclipse for 2 years. And I can say "it is really GOOD"!!!. Alfredo L. Tassano Buenos Aires, Argentina

User: AnonymousRating: 92006-02-15 11:43:49
Been using it for 2 years. Definitely worth the subscription price.

User: AnonymousRating: 42006-02-07 05:17:09
Intrusive rather than helpful I tried to figure out the added value of this plugin over all its component plugins, especially because of this impressive ranking, but I am afraid I am lost. Some plugins (like Spindle) I already used, others replaced plugins I favor (XMLBuddy). Add to that the amount of jars (for instance when adding Spring capabilities) I do not need at all for any specific project and the amount of stuff that is not really mature, and I had to conclude I am better of without. Great product and support value for money.

User: AnonymousRating: 102005-08-21 13:57:05
"MyEclipse get a 10 for productivity suport and price."

User: AnonymousRating: 102005-08-21 04:12:52
I tried out this product and i really liked it.I love thier UML editor and like the easy interface.

User: AnonymousRating: 102005-07-01 10:00:44
They technical support alone is worth the price. If one of there support personal spends time on one of your problems, you have already paid for your subscription.

User: AnonymousRating: 102005-06-10 11:47:39
The UML editor only is worth the price ($29). Plus you get HTML/JSP/Struts/JSF/Hibernate/Database/Tapestry/EJB tools as well, just to name a few.

User: AnonymousRating: 42005-03-26 23:35:36
yes

User: AnonymousRating: 82005-02-14 08:53:43
JavaScript editor seems to be pretty buggy. XML, HTML and CSS editors are great. Haven\'t used anything else in this package.

User: AnonymousRating: 102005-01-13 09:21:08
This is one of the most amazing tools I have EVER used in my development experience.  It only costs about $30 per year and for some of the features alone are worth far far more than that!  Time = money and this has saved me tens of hours and made my productivity increase tenfold!
I look forward to quarterly releases which keep us way ahead of any other comercial tool!!

User: AnonymousRating: 82004-12-22 12:37:56
This is a very good editor for J2EE development using JSP, Custom Tag Libraries, Servlets and the like. It includes Hibernate capabilities built-in, Struts capabilities (although I don't use Struts so I cannot comment on it's functionality) and the like. It will build your web.xml for you during development (which is great) and has nice editors for XML documents (comes in handy for TLDs) and CSS sheets.

I like this tool because you can develop your whole website with it, not just the J2EE parts but also the static HTML parts. It does not contain the ability to auto export the HTML portion of your website, but it does include automatic building and deployment of your J2EE application. I therefore do a deployment of the J2EE apps and then just FTP the HTML portion over.

I would like to see specific project support for things like Tag Libraries, etc., although they can rather easily built using MyEclipse, specific support like automatically building TLDs would be an enhancement for me.

Good

User: AnonymousRating: 102004-10-01 11:23:38
Best tool in the universe!

User: AnonymousRating: 92004-08-05 07:57:30
Great product. Currently using the 3.8 beta 2 version so it has a few quirks but I expect that these will be ironed out in the final release. I use Websphere Studio on my job and MyEclipse for my personal development.

User: AnonymousRating: 102004-08-03 05:49:38

required plugin for any j2ee development.

User: AnonymousRating: 92004-07-22 14:33:33
Works great and when I had some questions, support was very responsive. Good support site that is actively monitored for questions and problems.

User: AnonymousRating: 92004-07-16 15:02:20
All you need to develop professional web application is here. It\'s fantastic, although there are some bugs that made me vote a 9 instead of a 10.

User: AnonymousRating: 102004-07-13 15:12:56
Top quality, absolutely superb for the price. It means those wanting to learn J2EE have a decent dev environment so they can actually learn the APIs, and not have to worry about the configuration first.

User: AnonymousRating: 92004-06-03 17:50:15
not only the product very nice, the support we are getting is also very quick and good

User: AnonymousRating: 102004-05-28 19:14:47
This is well worth the money...excellent support

User: AnonymousRating: 102004-05-13 15:14:45
exactly what I was looking for!

User: AnonymousRating: 72004-05-11 14:50:02
(1) xdoclet integration is the big benefit here; the implementation of this feature is pretty good, but could be improved (2) the installer adds a useless \"MyEclipse\" shortcut to the user\'s desktop -- useless because it\'s not workspace aware; the installer should prompt the user for their preferred workspace path, or else not add the shortcut at all.

User: AnonymousRating: 92004-05-06 05:51:47
A real time saver. Cheap.

User: AnonymousRating: 92004-03-17 14:32:17
Great plugin. It has a much smoother integrate with Eclipse than Lomboz, and its JSP editor is top notch. My only problem with it has been the generation of too much space in the XConfig Ant files, but this is a problem from the underlying open source implementation and not the plugin.

Good stuff, well worth the money.
