TagSEA aims to be a robust, extendable framework with exemplary tools used for tagging and waypointing source code, resources, or whatever you would like within Eclipse.
TagSEA began because of the fact that software projects represent a large amount of source code which can often be difficult to manage and navigate. Recent developments in the web have shown that the concept of tagging is effective for helping to find and navigate through interesting information on the web. TagSEA applies this concept of tagging to source code.
But it does more as well. The truth is that software problems don't just deal with source code. Often, source code is related in many ways to other resources. Tagging offers a convenient way to make explicit these relationships.
Tags, then, offer a way of marking resources with interesting concepts from the ground-up. This can help facilitate searching, but there is also much more information that can be important about a resource. There is the who, what, when, where, and why of a resource and its tags. So, TagSEA has borrowed the idea of Waypoints from the field of global positioning systems and geography, and combined it with Tags from the web to help you find your way through your complex computer tasks.
TagSEA comes standard with two different types of waypointing for use in Eclipse: Java waypointing, and Resource waypointing. Both allow you to tag, navigate, and organize resources in your Eclipse workspace. But it is designed to be extensable and fluid so you can add your own functional waypoints. The only limit is your imagination! Added on: 29-Jan-2007 | Updated: 01-Jul-2007
