TOPCASED - Toolkit in OPen source for Critical Applications and SystEm Development - is a system/software engineering toolset based on Eclipse. It aims to provide the tools required to go from requirements analysis to implementation stages. It includes several graphical model editors: UML, SysML, structured analysis (SAM), and AADL (Architecture Analysis and Design Language). All the model editors includes a requirement management capability, and SAM and UML models can be simulated. TOPCASED also includes OCL tools, some code generators (UML2C, SMUC, UML2Java, UML2Python and a Java2UML retro-engineering feature), a document generator called gendoc and gPM, a generic Changes Manager (a kind of completely configurable bugzilla). A VHDL editor & checker is also available.

Really exciting. Plan to get involved, though a novice. Sam

Great tools!! I tried the UML and the Ecore editors - you have done a really GREAT job! In my opinion the UML editor is the best from what I have evaluated, better even from the most commercial tools! There are some usability issues - to provide context menus containing actions for creating sub elements, clean up the palette, provide an easy way for changing the connections type for the whole plugin... Still - the best I have tried so far! Keep up the good work :)

Current state is really good! Concept and a way it is realized is excellent. Walk this way! One minor note: There will be no space for commercial tools at the modeling field.

just great, very promising. tried 0.11 for uml2 statecharts, and it turned out to be good for creating a complex diagram. Ecore diagrams supported, but IMHO not reliably in that version. backed by EADS and other companies interested in practical tools for modeling of complex softwares.
