DataScope JDBC is an extensible JDBC plugin for the Eclipse IDE that allows easy universal access to and modification of resources within a database.

DataScope is highly customizable: Just about every part of the DataScope UI can be augmented by writing simple classes, putting them in jar files, and dropping the jar files in a directory. Write your own classes to perform custom actions on the database.
You can write custom drivers for connecting to any database as well.

Basic Features:

  • Convenient Connections View lets you explore multiple databases simultaneously
  • Table Editor allows spreadsheet-like editing of table data
  • Find/Replace data in table columns
  • Copy database objects to the clipboard, paste them into an editor as SQL
  • Visual Query Editor lets you drag and drop between tables to create joins, etc. in queries that can be shared among databases
  • Visual Table Editor: Create and manage table resources in an easy-to-use interface.
  • Manage Stored Procedures, and edit them with the Stored Procedure editor
  • Manage Views and edit them with the View editor

New in version 1.0.1

  • Now works with Eclipse 3.1

  • The Query Editor has been updated to support more join types, column aliasing, and to work much better in general. :-)

  • New Diagram Editor lets you view and manage foreign key relationships between tables in a database. Drag a column from one table to another to create a foreign key relationship, etc.

  • Improved installation lets you download the whole plugin as a .zip file and more conveniently install it outside of the Eclipse Update Manager if you want.
