Eclipse Office will be more than an usual Office Suite. It will integrate many productivity tools which are now in external programs. Eclipse Office will use the latest Eclipse technologies like model driven development (EMF/GMF) to achieve a new type of an office program, which will enable collaboration and web-enablement. Export and Imports will be based on XML Transformation.
Actually the project is in a very early stage and Eclipse Office should not be used for productive purposes. The main targets are to design the whole office model and develop the first essential components for rendering.
You can download Eclipse Office from http://sourceforge.net/projects/eclipseoffice/. Though Eclipse Office will be platform neutral as the Eclipse IDE in the future, actually we provide a window installer. Eclipse Office's source code contains a lot of solutions you might use in other RCP applications.

| | User: Anonymous | Rating: 9 | 2008-05-16 03:29:11 | | | It worked fine for me. I used Eclipse 3.4 M7 Ganymed + GMF (latest version). It looks as if Eclipse Office combines GEF and SWT. But how do they do that???
