This Eclipse Plugin provides some tools and settings for developing C programs for the ATMEL AVR series of embedded processors with the Eclipse IDE. It is open source and freely available under the terms of the GNU General Public Licence (GPL)

The plugin provides the following main functions on top of the CDT features:

  • Selection of a target processor
  • Custom managed build tools for the AVR-GCC toolchain incl.
  • Creating the hex dump image files needed for downloading to an AVR processor
  • Upload of the project to a target processor
  • Graphical editor for Fuse- and Lockbits
  • A viewer showing some information about the selected AVR processor
  • Full integration in CDT

It has been successfully tested with Windows, Linux and Mac OS X and should work with on any other platform supporting the AVR-GCC toolchain.

The plug-in is a excellent effort in getting AVR's Developed using Eclipse. However there where a couple of disappointing errors mainly to do with I guess CDT and the Linux AVR toolset rather than the Windoze EXE toolset as implemented by Atmel Corp. themselves with their AVRStudio4. Overall - Congratulations.

Gets you up and running in no-time. Nice UI that handles fuses, lockbits etc.
