I went to http://www.sysdeo.com/eclipse/tomcatPlugin.html to try to download tomcat plugin, but I got "Module not found" error page. Do you know if the plugin page has been taken down? If there's alternate location I can download the plugin from? If anyone has any information about it, please let me know. Thank you very much.

Hi
You have to delete org.eclipse...tomcat 4.XX, same like this that are located by default in plugin directory.

Then, install tomcatplugin v3 as usual.

Goo luck

Pintiyas, thanks a LOT! It's working now! :]

You need to install the Sysdeo plugin in your eclipse plugin folder first.
Then you go to the Window-Customize Perspective -- Availabe Command Group tab.
On Menubar detail -- click find
Then you will see tomcat being of the choices in "Availabe Commad Group"

Hello,

I am using Eclipse 3.0.1 and Tomcat v5.0.28
The current "Sysdeo Eclipse Tomcat Launcher plugin" does not work.
(http://www.sysdeo.com/eclipse/tomcatPlugin.html)

I have
- copied the directory com.sysdeo.eclipse.tomcat_3.0.0 into eclipse/plugins
- restarted eclipse

Installation part that does not work:
>> Plugin activation for Eclipse 3.0 : select menu 'Perspective>Customize...>Command',
>> and check 'Tomcat' in 'Available command groups'

I can't find 'Available command groups'

What could be the reason?

Thanks
Aykut

hi,
I am newbie in Eclipse and Tomcat, i have same problem which most of the people have here in this thread.
I am using
1---> Eclipse SDk 3.1.2
2---> Tomcat 5.5 Server.
3---> Sysdeo Eclipse --TomcatPlugin for Eclipse version 3.1.0

sysdeo:
I have downloaded zipped file from (www.sysdeo.com) and extracted it to the plugins folder,
as com.sysdeo.eclipse.tomcat_3.1.0 . The folder is inside <eclipse\plugins\> only.

i have jre installed j2sdk1.4.1_07 and selected.
windows>Preferences>java>installed JREs.
checkbox selected. j2sdk1.4.1_07

other configurations:
path --->c:\j2sdk1.4.1_07\bin
java_home -->c:\j2sdk1.4.1_07\lib

with these configuration did everything: from Deleting the plugin folder and raising error on eclipse,
eclipse updates etc etc...
Installation doesnot work:
result : select menu >> window>>Customzize Perspective>Command'
>>check "Tomcat " in Available command groups'

i cannot find "Tomcat " In Available command groups'
no where?

please help in this.

thanks in advance.

http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/library/os-ectom/

If that is what you did then my advice is to start from scratch again.....

1 - delete com.sysdeo.eclipse.tomcat_3.1.0 folder from eclipse\plugins
2 - navigate to main eclipse directory in command prompt (if using windows), enter the command "eclipse -clean"
3 - shut down eclipse
3 - re-install tomcat plugin
4 - open up eclipse. "Hopefully" it should be there. if not, shut down eclipse and try running the "-clean" command again. this sorted it for me.

If that doesn't work just scour the web. Theres bucket's of forum posts where people are having the same problem.

Copy com.sysdeo.eclipse.tomcat_3.1.0 to eclipse/plugins and start eclipse use command line eclipse-clean that's done!

i have tested eclipse 3.2 with tomcat 5.5 it works fine.
just need to close eclipse application cut plugin folder -start application-again stop and past plugin to original place.
It works fine.
No need to delete some plug in eclipse.
